Headley Construction was founded by William V. Headley almost 50 years ago. Focused on building a better world for families and communities across Georgia, Bill's vision + attention to detail shaped our company's approach to general contracting, design-build and renovation projects. The Headley team honors his legacy and commitment to Build Better by focusing on superb construction services, customer satisfaction, and successful employees.

MITCH HEADLEY

President + CEO 

As president and CEO of Headley Construction, Mitchell Headley is responsible for all strategic planning, negotiations, preconstruction management, and construction operations. He guides the company’s future by combining his background in civil engineering with the relationships he developed during 25 years of management roles for the firm. Mitch establishes policies and controls, and is responsible for overall operations and performance of the company. During his high school and college years, Mitch worked summers and breaks for the family business.

 

A proud graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Mitch obtained a degree in Civil Engineering after receiving an Army ROTC scholarship. Upon graduating from Georgia Tech and receiving an Army Officer's Commission, he graduated from the Army Corp of Engineer's Basic Course in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He served his Army Reserve career as a Platoon Leader of the 718th Engineer Company, Chamblee, Georgia. During part of his tenure, Mitch served also as Executive Officer, leading multiple engineer service projects at Fort Stewart, Fort Benning, and Dobbins Air Force Base. Shortly after being promoted to Captain in 1998, Mitch received an honorable discharge.

 

Mitch's civilian career started in 1988 as a Civil Engineer for an Atlanta-based consulting firm where he performed site design for private and government entities. During his tenure as Civil Engineer, Mitch gained experience in general site design, municipal water, wastewater treatment, and landfill design. In 1993, Mitch successfully completed the State of Georgia's Professional Engineering exam, and received his Professional Engineering Registration. In 1994, he returned to the family construction business in Newnan. 

 

Mitch started as a Headley Construction Project Superintendent before becoming Project Manager, and finally taking over as President in 2006. As President of Headley Construction, Mitch was honored to be a top ten finalist of the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce Small Buisness of the Year Prosperity Award in 2015.

Mitch is an active member and former board member of Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). He is active in the AGC's legislative committee and served one term as Chairman of that committee. Passionate about developing the next generation of construction leaders, he is a longtime advocate of AGC's Young Leadership Program and Board Member of the Boy Scouts of America Flint River Council.

Mitch is married to Margaret and they have four young adult kids. Passionate about fitness, Mitch works out frequently at Orangetheory. When time permits, he enjoys spending time with the family on the lake or beach. He also enjoys shooting sporting clays, especially with his son. The family lives in Newnan and worships at Calvary Chapel.​

CHRISTOPHER GILLIAM

Vice President 

Vice President of Operations Christopher Gilliam oversees day-to-day construction operations for Headley Construction. In this role, he is involved in strategic planning, business development, pre-construction, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and project management supervision essential to Headley’s continued success as a general contractor. Chris enjoys working on all types of projects but has a strong passion for renovation projects.


Chris began his construction career in 2006, first working as a Land Surveyor before becoming a Superintendent and Project Manager on residential remodeling projects. Chris joined Headley Construction as a Project Manager in 2012 and was promoted to Vice President in 2018. He holds a Master’s Degree in Building Construction and Facility Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology.


This year, Chris was elected to the Board of Trustees for Christian City, a 500-acre community providing life-changing hope for children and families across Atlanta. Chris is an active member of Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). He is active in the AGC’s Youth Leadership Program and is committed to supporting the next generation of construction leaders. Chris is also the Past President of the Newnan Kiwanis Club.


Chris and his wife, Amber, have three beautiful daughters. The family lives in Newnan and is active in their church, Heatherwood Baptist. Chris also enjoys the outdoors. When he isn’t on a jobsite or serving the community, Chris does as much fly-fishing as he can.

LUKE HEADLEY

Senior Project Manager + Sales

Luke Headley is a Senior Project Manager with a strong background in real estate and sales. He supervises many large projects at Headley Construction and has overseen the expansion of Central Baptist Church as well as renovation projects for GDOT, Georgia State University, Kennesaw State University, and Auburn University.

 

Luke’s ability to develop positive relationships with subcontractors, owners, and people in the community as well as his calm demeanor have helped him excel in construction management. He started his career in real estate and has been a project manager with Headley Construction since 2016. Luke attended Auburn University and holds a real estate broker’s license.

 

Luke is a past president and member of the Rotary Club of Newnan and Central Baptist Church. Outside of work, Luke is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys bird hunting, growing his own vegetables, and spending time with his wife, Beth, and their two children.
