As president and CEO of Headley Construction, Mitchell Headley is responsible for all strategic planning, negotiations, preconstruction management, and construction operations. He guides the company’s future by combining his background in civil engineering with the relationships he developed during 25 years of management roles for the firm. Mitch establishes policies and controls, and is responsible for overall operations and performance of the company. During his high school and college years, Mitch worked summers and breaks for the family business.

A proud graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Mitch obtained a degree in Civil Engineering after receiving an Army ROTC scholarship. Upon graduating from Georgia Tech and receiving an Army Officer's Commission, he graduated from the Army Corp of Engineer's Basic Course in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He served his Army Reserve career as a Platoon Leader of the 718th Engineer Company, Chamblee, Georgia. During part of his tenure, Mitch served also as Executive Officer, leading multiple engineer service projects at Fort Stewart, Fort Benning, and Dobbins Air Force Base. Shortly after being promoted to Captain in 1998, Mitch received an honorable discharge.

Mitch's civilian career started in 1988 as a Civil Engineer for an Atlanta-based consulting firm where he performed site design for private and government entities. During his tenure as Civil Engineer, Mitch gained experience in general site design, municipal water, wastewater treatment, and landfill design. In 1993, Mitch successfully completed the State of Georgia's Professional Engineering exam, and received his Professional Engineering Registration. In 1994, he returned to the family construction business in Newnan.

Mitch started as a Headley Construction Project Superintendent before becoming Project Manager, and finally taking over as President in 2006. As President of Headley Construction, Mitch was honored to be a top ten finalist of the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce Small Buisness of the Year Prosperity Award in 2015.

Mitch is an active member and former board member of Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). He is active in the AGC's legislative committee and served one term as Chairman of that committee. Passionate about developing the next generation of construction leaders, he is a longtime advocate of AGC's Young Leadership Program and Board Member of the Boy Scouts of America Flint River Council.

Mitch is married to Margaret and they have four teenage kids. His joy is to watch their sporting and extracurricular events. When time permits, he enjoys spending time with the family on the lake or beach. He also enjoys shooting sporting clays, especially with his sons. The family lives in Newnan and worships at Southcrest Church.
