Cherokee Approves $2.8 Million Fire Station No. 1

Construction on a new Bells Ferry Fire Station 1 for Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services is moving forward after county commissioners approved a $2.8 million construction contract.

County commissioners voted unanimously at the July 5 commissioner’s meeting to award the construction services agreement for the station to the lowest bidder, Headley Construction.

“The county purchased property immediately adjacent to Station 1 located on Bells Ferry Road,” said County Manager Jerry Cooper. “The plan is to build the replacement station and demolish the old Station 1.”
